Hello and welcome. I’m Mary Long and the founder of Herstory Network. I’m a writer and the author of several books, have been a radio talk show host at WGN and WLS in Chicago, and WENY in New York, a women’s retreat leader and a speaker at various women’s groups.

I’m also a Certified Death Midwife who has had the sacred honor of aiding and assisting others as they ended their physical journeys on earth.

My personal journey has been one driven by a question that has plagued me since I was a little girl- who are we and why are we here?

This question had me seek answers for the first half of my life within the structures of the Catholic church I was raised in. A personal tragedy flung me off that road and I found myself exploring New Age Spirituality.

Eventually even that was no longer a fit, so now I’m unattached to any specific doctrines or belief systems and doing my best to simply follow where my inner guidance leads.

The one thing that has never changed in my life is the belief that women remembering who they really are is the key to unlocking the mysteries of this existence.

I believe the greatest tragedy that has befallen humanity is the gradual erasing of women’s memories regarding the power they possess and their importance in the rebirth of the Divine Feminine within us all.

I have always been inspired by women who break through barriers and refuse to conform. Women who are brave and unrelenting in their conviction that they have a right to live their lives as they see fit, regardless of what we’re programmed to believe our roles are supposed to be.

My greatest hope is that through these writings and videos we will find each other and inspire each other to remember who we truly are and rethink the way women exist in this world; to break free of programming meant to keep us asleep to our true divinity and power and begin to reclaim our rightful place in this world.

May we shake loose of outdated beliefs and rules that have kept us small and

questioning ourselves. Because when the women unite and remember who they are

and the power they possess…watch out! That’s when the magic begins.
